"Michael Ray Vignovich, known as Mike V. or Big Vig, always prolonged a conversation, whether chatting to cashiers at Trader Joe's, or hailing fellow sailors in the ports of Two Harbors, Shoreline Marina and Puerto Vallarta. Born in Long Beach in 1952 to Martin and LaVeta Vignovich, Mike graduated from Millikan High School in 1970 and attended Long Beach City College before transferring to UC Santa Barbara."
