Somehow I ended up in suburban Philadelphia, and have lived here for over 40 years.

I transferred to Millikan in 11th grade, along with other students from St. Joseph Girls High in Lakewood. I think several local parents got together and decided we would go to public school. I assimilated very quickly. It was a short walk to Millikan. I remember eating peanut butter cookies with a milkshake every day for lunch, and never understood why someone would buy fruit from a refrigerated machine. I think it was located in a desolate area near the gym. I liked all of my teachers; Miss Bass from PE was amazing. Also, many of my classmates had deep admiration, and dare I say, love, for Mr. Bower from the music department. I would stare at him when he walked by, envious of his students, and wished I was one of them.
